Our Medicine Consulting is a leading expert in designing and implementing storytelling interventions for systems – including nonprofits, hospitals, foundations, government offices, community health centers, and national departments of public health. I work with health organizations to embed a culture of storytelling, humanize data, and highlight community solutions to national disparities.
Our Medicine is founded on the knowledge that policy change is downstream of narrative change. When communities and organizations are given a platform to tell their stories, change is inevitable. Data has brought us significant improvements in human well-being. However, it is storytelling and listening that will deliver our communities to equitable, culturally competent, trusted healthcare. Human beings are innately wired to empathize with stories, and it is this empathy that will dissolve disparities.
My work with past clients has led to both nation-wide and organization-level storytelling initiatives that foster empathy, create understanding, and guide life saving, systemic changes. This work can be over the course of a few hours, days, weeks, or months.
